Open Heart is a prenatal class designed to counter the forward pull of a growing body: the rounding through the shoulders, the tightening across the chest, the low-back strain that comes with carrying new weight. Led by Abbie Cohen, this practice uses supported backbends and gentle heart-opening shapes to restore length through the front body and ease tension built up through the day.
Using one bolster and two blocks, students move through a sequence of restorative and supported postures that create space in the chest and shoulders while protecting the pelvis and low back. Expect slow transitions, thoughtful prop placement, and breathwork that encourages both physical release and a sense of calm connection to the changing body.
This class is well suited for students at any stage of pregnancy looking for a grounding, supportive practice that prioritizes safety without sacrificing depth.
